When Ashley first moved to Southern California in 1968, she enjoyed a brief career in modeling but Los Angeles seemed too frenetic for this Canadian and in 1972 she heard the siren call of radio. After a 6 week Radio DJ course she began a successful career in radio in San Diego.

Ashley was invited to audition as co-host of the popular morning TV show "Sun Up San Diego". When the producers chose "the blond" she sent out her tape to the other 2 stations in town. The NBC affiliate, Channel 7/39 was seeking a new host for their evening magazine show "Weekend Magazine" and Ashley landed the gig. Having never been inside a TV station she learned on the job and spent the next few years telling and showing San Diegans all the fun places to see and experience. It was one of the jobs she would have done for free.

After her television she ended, Ashley became a Producer working our of her home for non-profit clients by hiring small, independant crews to shoot the footage and edit in an independant editing studio to produce short films and documentaries. Business was good and pretty soon she hung up a shingle, rented a small space in downtown San Diego which soon grew to a 2000 square foot office and studio with 10 employees. We were Downtown Productions and our sister company, Earth Vision Productions.

Having sold her company in the early 2000s and having helped to grow the Women's Museum of California for 15 years, Ashley turned to the expressive art form of stand-up comedy and loved it so much, help found a troupe of women, of a certain age, called The Brassy Broads. They perform all over San Diego County on local stages and private parties. It's all about "finding the funny".
